Untuk menjadi mahasiswa Universitas Andalas, calon mahasiswa dapat mengikuti seleksi masuk yang telah telah ditetapkan oleh Universitas Andalas

Untuk program sarjana dan diploma, Universitas Andalas menyediakan dua jalur masuk, yaitu jalur masuk reguler melalui SNMPTN dan UTBK yang dilaksanankan secara nasional, dan jalur mandiri yang dilaksanakan oleh Univeritas Andalas
